You're Sweet

My heart is really heavy right now.  There are no words to express the heartbreak and sorrow the families of the victims must feel in Newtown, CT.  All I can do is pray for them and hope that they can move on from this awful tragedy.  So many people's hearts are breaking...I wish there was more I could do.

Just sitting here, looking at my artwork I am posting...makes me feel like it isn't that important.  Why am I taking the time to post this, when people are hurting right now?!  It is hard to go about your day to day life, when all you think about is what happened.  Such a tough situation...I can't wrap my brain around it.  Like I said before...all you can do is PRAY.  Among all this sadness...you have to move on and put a smile on your face.  So...I hope that this little bit of artwork can put a little smile on your face.  Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you stop by again soon.

Jolly Old St. Nick

Hello again!  I am popping in again this week to share a card I put together.  It is easy to keep posting after several days of it. ;)  I entered this card in the H2H Challenge for this week.

I have a pile of these cute doilies in my stash and thought I would break one out for this sweet card.  I cut the Santa out with one of my favorite Holiday Cricut cartridges, Joy of the Season.  There are so many elegant Christmas images to choose from.  The patterned paper is from an old CTMH paper packet called Evensong.  I used the Creative Basics paper that was available in this same line.  I am always trying to use up old paper....I just have too much in my stash!  I think that the sparkles add that little extra to the card too.  Thanks for stopping by today!  See you next time! :)

2012--12 Days of Christmas--Day 12

Well...here we are on the last day of my 12 Days of Christmas!  It is a significant day too!  It's 12/12/12.  This only happens once in a lifetime.  And as I write this, the time is 12:12 pm.  Crazy, huh!  Anyways,  I quickly made this card.  It isn't my best work and I was hoping to go out with a BIG project for the last day.  Ah well!  It is a fun and easy card.  I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out the shape of the present.  I was inspired by one of Allisa Chilton's cards seen here.  I changed up the paper to Believe from the 2011 Autumn/Winter Ideabook.  I love the bright and vibrant colors from this paper pack.

I want to thank everyone who visited my blog these last 12 days.  I really hope that you liked all of my cards and such.  Please keep visiting, I will post more often...I promise! :)  See you next time!

2012--12 Days of Christmas--Day 11

Good day!  Here we are...the 11th day of my 12 Days of Christmas!  I have been seeing a lot of the chalkboard look on cards and layouts.  Close To My Heart is on board with this trend too.  In the newest Idea Book, you can purchase sheets of adhesive-backed chalkboard vinyl and use their chalk marker or real chalk.  It is a really fun technique.  I did not have these particular items on hand, so I decided to make my own version with what I had in my craft room.  I used Black cardstock and White Daisy pigment ink for the stamping.  I had some old Decorative Chalks and sponged white chalk around the stamps.  So...there are different ways to achieve this HOT new trend.  I found this card on Dawn McVey's blog and changed it a bit.  I thought this was a perfect themed card to give out to someone during the holidays.  Okay...one more day to go.  I just might have to start posting more...I really have been enjoying these last several days.  I hope to see you all back tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by. :)

This is another card that is a little bit out of my normal card making.  I kept making changes to it to make it look better in my eyes.  I hope that you think it is worth giving out to someone.

Now, I am off to bake some yummy Christmas Cookies.  My sister and I are hosting our 3rd Annual Christmas Cookie Swap tomorrow.  So excited!  I thought I better get this posted before I get to that baking!

Hi there!  Welcome to Day 7 of my 12 Days of Christmas!  I have spent all morning working on this layout.  I didn't want to do another card today...change it up a bit.  Wow!  Did this take me FOREVER!  I pinned this layout and used all Close To My Heart product to make it mine.  My photo of this isn't as good as it looks in person.  Layouts don't fit in my photo lighting cube very well.  Here are a couple close up shots for more detailed views:

12 Days of Christmas!
I just, I mean, just finished this card.  I think I should plan ahead and have cards and such already to post...but no...not me, I procrastinate. I found this cute card here on Debbie Olson's blog.  I had saved it on good ol' Pinterest.  Man...I love that site!  I even hand-stitched all around the card.  I have a sewing machine, but I don't know how to use it.  One of these days I will take some lessons.  I hope you all have been following my blog everyday.  I hope you enjoyed this card and will see you back tomorrow.

2012--12 Days of Christmas--Day 5

Happy Wednesday and welcome to my 5th day of my 12 Days of Christmas.  I have been playing around with the new alcohol based markers from Close To My Heart, but haven't prefected them yet...so I decided to use the old stand by, the blending pen.  I really love using this pen and so do my customers.  I like the fact that you can use it will all of your stamp pads with just one blending pen.  I very inexpensive way to color in your images.  I have only a select few of the new alcohol markers, so I didn't have the right colors to color in my images on this card.

I usually find a card for inspiration, but this one was just put together easily without thinking too much.  I sure like the way it turned out. :)

I hope you all have been enjoying my posts.  I am really glad I am doing this.  I just hope I can keep going after the 12 days.  Thanks for stopping by and I will see you tomorrow!

2012--12 Days of Christmas--Day 1

I am in the spirit again to do my
12 Days of Christmas.
I am super excited to share twelve Christmas themed cards, scrapbook pages or 3D projects with you!

I am one of those bloggers that posts here and there.  I wish I had more time to spend posting everything I make, but my sweet children and husband need to see me.  I think I would get in trouble if I was in my craft room 24-7. ;)  I really had a great time last year posting for 12 days straight.  It would be a miracle if I kept up that pace!

Here is my first post of the twelve.  I went to the trusty Mojo Monday blog and used their sketch for this round card.  This is sketch number 269.  I also used up some older winter/holiday paper-Wonderland.  I love this paper.  I still have a stash full...so I am glad I will not run out too soon.  Thanks for stopping by!  See you tomorrow. :)

Christmas CRICUT Class

I am so excited to share with you a NEW workshop I will be holding next month.  I recently had a sweet lady ask me about the Cricut machine.  She saw one in action at a recent card making club and had to have one.  I know....the Cricut is the most used tool I have in my craft room.  I don't know what I would do without it!  I guess I would still be cutting everything with scissors...YIKES!!

I cannot take full credit for these cute projects.  I was browsing a blog that I often visit by fellow consultant Lisa Stenz.  She is soooo talented!!  I did not have the CTMH October Stamp of the Month, so I used other Christmas stamps to make it my own.  The Santa bag I totally lifted.  I hope she doesn't mind ;).

Here are the details for the workshop:

DATE: Sunday, December 2nd
TIME: 1 pm
PLACE: My House (please email me privately for directions)
COST: $8.00
***Please RSVP before November 24th***Space is limited!!

We will make (2) each of four different projects including a gable box, a Santa gift bag, a gift card holder, and a tag (not pictured). I will walk you through the process of cutting and making each project. Just bring your Cricut machine, Artiste cartridge, Art Philosophy Cartridge, adhesive, and ink pads and I will supply the rest.  If you do not have many of these supplies, I am happy to share mine with you.  Listed below are what you will receive to make these cute projects:

Mojo Monday: 265

Hi!!  I can't believe we are now entering the month of November.  I really enjoy this month.  For me and I am sure many other people, I like to take time this month and reflect on all that I am thankful for.  With all of the devastation that recently took place in New England...it definitely is a time to be thankful for what you have.  My heart and prayers go out to all of those that have been effected by this tragedy.  I hope for a speedy recovery to all.

My sweet neighbors gave our children a bunch of fun things this Halloween.  I wanted to have the kids sign a thank you card for them.   I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.  I haven't played along for awhile, so it was fun to participate.  Thanks for stopping by!

I have been hoarding this Mischief paper for awhile and thought I just better use it...geesh!!  I love how is turned out.  I also took a couple of up close photos with some detail of the embossed spider in the web and also the spider web stamped directly on the layout.

Sports Layout: September Hostess Club

Hello! Wow!!  September is already half way through, can you believe it!?  I am in a scrapbooking mood this month.  I was able to attend a scrapbooking retreat last weekend.  I got 10 2-page layouts done.  For me, that is good.  I spend way too much time on each layout wondering what special touches I want to add to each.  I am a SLOOOOOW scrapbooker.  Ah well!!!  I so enjoyed the time.  Before I went, I put this layout together for my Hostess Club this month.  I had a special request for a sports layout.  I decided to do it a little differently this time and have my members pick out what accent color they would like to add to their layout.  That way they can choose their color based on their teams colors...genius, right?! ;)  Also, I have a stamp with different themes (soccer, baseball, basketball...etc.) they get to choose the sport too.  Fun!!  My son is not too sporty, so I don't make sports layouts very often.  I think it turned out pretty well.  Thanks for stopping by!

Back To School Teacher Gifts

I am so not ready for school to start!  I want the summer to go on and on but, since that is not possible, I better just enjoy what is left.  I think one of the reasons why I want to delay school is because my little girl is starting Kindergarten this year!  It just can't be!!!  She is growing up way too fast.  She is really looking forward to school and cannot wait to make friends.  So...it makes the transition a little bit easier.  I should not forget to mention that my oldest is going into 4th grade!!!  Now....he isn't as enthusiastic about the whole going back to school, but he needs his social time back and a little less time in front of his beloved Playstation! ;)  Kids and their electronics!  When I was a kid, going outside and riding bikes was all I could think about.  How times have changed!

Anyways...on to the little gifts I made for both of my kids' teachers.  I found these cute little gift boxes in the Walmart 88 cent bins.  The notepads were there too.  I grabbed a couple of lunch sacks in my stash and folded them up to make a pocket to hold the pencils and chocolate bar.  I found some REALLY OLD paper when I first joined Close To My Heart and started to work on getting the pocket all decorated.  Cute, huh?!
I happened to check the Heart 2 Heart blog today and they are having a Back To School challenge today.  Perfect!!  I hope the teachers enjoy the little gift. ;)  Thanks for stopping by!

Flirty Birthday Wishes and Mojo Monday Sketch 255

Okay...I am not going to babble on about why I have not been posting much lately.  Let's just say... summer time is just too nice to be inside crafting.

I am loving the new Close To My Heart Autumn/Winter Ideabook!  I tried to resist spending too much...but really?!  There was just too many things that I NEEDED!!  My husband is rolling his eyes right now! ;)

I loved this new stamp set, Love Blooms, right off the bat.  I had to get it.  This card is the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.  I haven't done a sketch for quite some time.  It is nice to give one a try again. :)  I used one of the B&T papers and used both sides of it.  I adore having double-sided paper!  I stamped the rose twice and cut out a portion of it and then used a pop dot to give the flower dimension.  It is hard to see in the photo.  This particular stamp set coordinates with The Flirty paper...I wasn't feeling the colors that are featured in this pack, so I picked out some different colors I was felt looked good together.  I hope you all like it as well as I do.  A super easy and fun one to put together.   Thanks so much for stopping by!

July Hostess Club Layout: 4th of July

Okay!!!  Where have I been?!  This past couple of months have been way too busy for me to do hardly any card making or scrapbooking.  With school coming to a close at the beginning of June and then a fun trip to Mexico....time in my favorite room had come to almost a complete halt.  Summer is always busy!

So...here is a layout I have put together for my July Hostess Clubs and also for the H2H challenge this week.  I had this theme picked out for quite some time.  Although, now, the 4th of July is not going to be the traditional one that we are all used to.  Montana has been so unusually hot this past month that we are experiencing a super dry spell and they have ban the use of fireworks.  I don't know about you, but fireworks are a traditional every 4th that I hate to give up.  They are a symbol of celebration.  I have never in my 34 years not been able to light a firework for the 4th.  This truly is a BIG bummer!  So, these pages will be filled with BBQ pictures and sadly no fireworks. :(

Okay...I think I got my rant out of the way.  I hope you like the layout and I can't wait to have my gals from my Hostess Club make it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks A Latte

I had a request from a fellow Mom to make a Thanks a Latte card for the teachers and staff at my son's school.  Teacher Appreciation week is coming up and the PTA is doing all sorts of fun stuff for the staff.  The PTA is providing all the staff a gourmet coffee one morning next week.  Great idea, huh!

I quickly whipped up this card.  I got some inspiration for it from this card.  I am a regular stalker of Aaron's blog! ;)

Happy Easter Pizza Box

Hello!  Happy Easter!  I spent a little bit of time in my scrapbook room yesterday and made this Pizza Box gift for my lovely neighbors.  I bought these pizza boxes years ago and finally dug one out and made something.  The box is 7x7 in size and I made some yummy Peanut Butter Bars to put inside.  I am finding all kinds of delicious recipes on Pinterest.  The bars remind me a little of those Reece's Peanut Butter Eggs.  Mmmmm!  I am also entering this box in the H2H Challenge. :)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter weekend!

Spring Birthday Greetings

I have returned!!  My handsome husband is now home safe and sound!  What a blessing and relief it is to have him home.  Raising our three little ones by myself for 11 months is not an easy task.  Thank goodness he is here to take on the challenge with me.  The kids and I are soooo happy!! :) :)

I love to participate in the H2H Challenges, but I haven't spent too much time in my craft room making anything.  I think I spent too much time looking at other peoples' artwork and on Pinterest.  I can't get off Pinterest, it is soooo addicting.

I went to the beginning of the month of March on the H2H blog and worked on the first challenge of the month.  The Spring Color Challenge.  Use the colors Sunkiss Yellow, Sky, and Sweet Leaf.  I added a couple other colors, but stayed with the main colors for this challenge.  I hope you enjoy this card.  Thanks for stopping by!
