January 2015 Hostess Club Layout and Cards

I am trying to beat the Holiday stress and get my club layout and cards done before all the madness begins.  I was inspired to use the additional layout provided in the Workshops on the Go® Hopscotch Scrapbooking Kit.  Of course I changed the papers a little, but the layout and theme stayed the same.  I think it would make a great Easter layout.  I used the pattern from Magic: Mystify and also pulled in some paper from the paper packet Wanderful.

All supplies are CTMH unless otherwise noted:
Paper: Hopscotch paper packet and Wanderful paper packet
Cardstock: Flaxen, Colonial White, and Sunset
Ink: Smoothie, Flaxen, and Slate
Stamp sets: D1280 Spot On Backgrounds (retired) and D1638 Hopscotch Scrapbooking set
Accessories: Z1752 Clear Sparkles and Z3036 Flaxen Extra Thick Twine
Tools:  Sand paper and sponge dauber

And finally, here are the cards.  These came together really fast and were really fun to put together.  I of course had to include the January Stamp of the Month (far left card).  The set is geared toward a Valentine theme, but I tried to use it with a different approach.   I hope you enjoy these projects.  Thanks for stopping by!

All supplies are CTMH unless otherwise noted:
Paper: Hopscotch paper packet
Cardstock: White Daisy, Colonial White, Crystal Blue, Smoothie, and Slate

Scaredy Cat: Frightfully Fun Card

Popping in with a quick post on this Lovely Friday!  I am still having fun with the Scaredy Cat paper.  I made this little card rather quickly.  The only time consuming part is coloring in the images with my ShinHan markers.  I am practicing away with these Great markers.  I am so glad that Close To My Heart added these to all of their Awesome products.  They truly are fun to use and color so well.  I added some bitty sparkles to the eyes of each image after pondering what else does it need?!  Have you ever looked at a project and felt....there is something missing...it needs more?!  Well...I think the sparkles did just that...added that needed touch.  I hope you enjoy this quick Halloween card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Scaredy Cat: Halloween Layout

Continuing on with my Scaredy Cat artwork.  I really didn't plan on making this a Scaredy Cat month, but once I started working with this paper, I just kept going.  I think if I keep this up with all of the new paper packets from the Annual Inspirations, I will actually use up the paper and not have it sit in my stash for years! ;)
I love going on Pinterest to get inspiration and ideas for cards, layouts, and other crafty projects.  This layout was inspired by a fellow CTMH consultant, Christine Adams' layout, seen here.  I loved everything about it, so I made my own...with a few tweeks.  I used the Pattern #12 from Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 2.  I hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper: Scaredy Cat paper packet

Scaredy Cat: BOO!! Eyeballs in a Jar

Creepy!!  Eyeballs in a Jar, anyone?!  I saw this card here, and I had to make my own version of it.  I probably made it more difficult than it needed to be, but I paper pieced the jar lid, ribbon, and tag.  It didn't take that long to do.  At least I was only making one of these cards and not a stack of them!  I hope you enjoyed this Creepy card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Family is Forever: Unforgettable and September 2014 Stamp of the Month

I recently put this layout together.  I have quite a bit of this older paper called Unforgettable left over.  It has a color combination that I have a hard time working with...but I really need to use it up and make more room in my paper stash.

I was surprised at how easily this layout came together, but I did have some inspiration to work with.  I really loved the sample layout for the September 2014 Stamp of the Month.

Voila!  I put that side together and then searched through my pattern books and used the right side of On with the Show from the  Magic™ pattern book.  The colors my not be my favorite, but it works!  I really appreciate you stopping by my blog.  Please come back again soon!

Chalk It Up

Chalk It Up Hostess Gifts. :)

It has been awhile since my last post!  I have been busy putting together a workshop and I had my hostess clubs this month.  Busy, Busy!!  I am doing a Chalk It Up Workshop this coming Saturday using the Chalk It Up Workshops on the Go.  Of course, I purchased one and put it together to see how long it would take and see if there was anything major I would have to explain how to do.

This paper packet is one of my FAVORITES!!  I love the color combo and all of the doodle patterns.  I will be picking up some prints I have waiting for me so that I can complete them and stick them into my kids' albums.  Super excited about these!

If you have any questions about what I used on these projects, feel free to email me.  There are too many to list here. :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Chalk It Up: You Amaze Me

Yay!!  I am posting two days in a row!  Yes, I know....it won't last, but I am still proud of myself! LOL!!  I actually made a ton of artwork using all of the New papers in the 2014 Annual Inspirations book just newly released.  I had an Open House a couple of weeks ago and prepared some samples to show.  That is why you are seeing a few more posts from me than usual. :)

I love how this little card turned out.  The new trend I am seeing now is doodling these cute little lines as an outline.  Fun, huh?!  This technique works well with this paper pack called Chalk It Up.  I also used a Chipboard Complement as the sentiment.  I used Pattern 22 for this card out of Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 2.  Thanks for stopping by!  See you next time.

Scaredy Cat and August SOTM: What a Hoot

Popping in with a quick post to show off some more Scaredy Cat paper and the August Stamp of the Month (S1408 What a Hoot).  I have to give credit for the cute paper bag craft to fellow consultant, Aaron Brown.  She is super talented and I just loved this idea.  I did change up the owl stamping from her original and the sequin eyes...but the rest is pretty similar.  Check out the close up of the eyes.  Fun, huh!?  I put black bitty sparkles in the center.

I used the new ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ to color in the owl and the hat.  I am really loving these new markers and hopefully my customers will too. :)  I hope you enjoy these fun Halloween crafts.  Thanks for stopping by!

Timberline: Picture Perfect Day

Hello there!!  I am finally popping in today with something to post!  I often go through spurts of posting.  I really don't mean to go so long between posts, but sometimes I just don't get around to making some artwork.  I wish I could hang out in my craft room all the time, but it just ain't possible.  Darn it, anyway! ;)

My dear friend and fellow scrapbooker is having a birthday this week.  I thought instead of running out and buying something, I would make her a fun layout to use.  She is really ambitious and does two of the same layout for each of her boys' albums.  So...I made two of this very boy layout for her.  I have already given her the layouts, so now I can post it here without spoiling the surprise. ;)

Did you know that March is all about Saving with Studio J™?  Have you tried Close to my Heart's online digital scrapbooking?  The reason I ask is I am planning on loading up on just pictures to fit on my already made layouts with Studio J™ .  During March, purchase Studio J™ layouts or photos for the discounted price of just $5 each! Visit my website for more details.  I am going to purchase photos for this lovely layout.  It is really easy to do.

Ariana: Happy Mother's Day Card

I am on a roll today!!  I couldn't wait until tomorrow to post this card.  I used Mojo Monday sketch 333 for inspiration.  I am making a bunch of artwork to display at my next Hostess Club meeting.  I don't normally have much artwork to display very often, but I have so much paper in my stash (I know...I say that a lot).  I am a paper hoarder!!  I admit it...I buy the paper and then it ends up in my paper organizer, untouched for a looooong time!  I have made a deal with myself to use it up faster than I normally do.  I am ashamed of my stash and I need to use it.  Makes sense, right?!  Let's see if I can do it!  So....if all goes well, you will be seeing a lot more posts and most likely paper that you can't buy anymore. ;)  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper: Ariana paper packet
Cardstock: White Daisy, Desert Sand, Ariana Coral, and Crystal Blue
Ink: Desert Sand, Crystal Blue, Sorbet, Sweet Leaf, an Olive

Ariana: Cherish Everyday Moments

Hello!  I just finished up making this Pretty Ariana layout.  I showed this to my husband and right away he says, "Ahhh....it's alright....kind of old lady."  I know...the roses remind me of Grandma, but, I think that is Perfect!  I am actually really proud of how this turned out.  Grandma would be proud too!!  I bought all of the new paper packets and this is the first one I have cut into (minus Lollydoodle...that's for my Hostess club).  I didn't buy the accessories that coordinate with Ariana, but I found the March SOTM from 2013 really fit well.  I hope you don't think it is too old lady. ;)  Thanks for stopping by!
